i feel like nancy drew in this outfit. she made being a detective both preppy and cute. you wouldn’t catch nancy in an old trenchcoat or an abandoned alleyway. she joins claudia kishi as one of my favorite fictional, fashionable girls.

when reading the title of the post, please read it as “wil-maaaaaaaaa” like fred flintstone. i know no other cartoon that includes animal print in a funny, quirky, classic sort of way.
speaking of classic, i love these new pointed toe flats! on saturday, M wanted new shoes, and i tagged along because i can’t say no to shoe stores (or french fries). he bought them for me after i told them they were very french. by very french i meant parisian not potatoes.

after a mostly rainy week, M and i return to semi-regular outfit posts! i liked my green and blue outfit from thursday so much that i recreated it on saturday. i’m still thanking sydney for finding such a beautiful blouse for me.

happy day after the day after valentine’s day! M and i celebrated with a low-key evening at home, not much different from our other low-key evenings. we cooked meatloaf and broiled asparagus. sophie wanted meatloaf, too; she settled for her nightly bone.
i’ve been busy this week with my school club but not too busy to publish a post and quick doodle. i love this sweatshirt. it’s the perfect slouchy top for skinny jeans and pants. i kind of wish i had another one (ahem… mickey… jenna… care package). maybe i can negotiate a trade-in program.

in high school, two boys named luke and richard told my friend jessica and me that you could start a fire if you rubbed corduroy fabric against itself at a breakneck speed. we believed them until they showed up at a dance in corduroy suits.
these pants whistle as i walk. they don’t whistle in a “girl, you look fine” kind of way. they whistle in an awkward rustle kind of way like the george and the pants episode of seinfeld. all whistling aside, i like them! i bought them to replace my wool trousers (also from JC). a little whistle is better than a little fire.
i wore this outfit last wednesday, covered with one of M’s sweaters, bundled under a wool coat. today it warmed up enough to sport it with the blouse only. texas weather!

whenever someone asks, “what do you enjoy the most about blogging?”, i have two answers: creativity and community. i love drawing and sharing small pieces of my life (and closet) with you. in turn, i’m inspired by many bloggers doing the same thing but in their own kind of way.
take terra (of stylish white female) and laurel (of trophy boutique). for years, i liked ankle boots, but i never knew how to style them. terra and laurel wear them with a beautiful kind of swagger. they sport ‘em with skirts, dresses, and jeans, and they always look like a boss. now i’ve learned how to wear and love them.
